Law Firm Website Design Principles That Drive Enquiries
We build fast, clear pages that make the next step obvious—so more visitors contact your firm.
We make the top of your page clear
What you do, where you do it, and one obvious next step. So visitors enquire.
We keep enquiry paths always visible
Phone and “Enquire” buttons on every screen, short form, clear confirmation. So more people contact you.
We show trust early
Reviews, badges, and real results near your buttons. So clients feel safe to reach out.
We simplify navigation
Services grouped by practice area with clear labels. So clients find the right page fast.
We write in plain English (legally accurate)
Pages answer common questions, reviewed by lawyers. So clients understand and act.
We make mobile fast and easy to read
Quick load, readable text, large tap targets, key info before scrolling. So mobile visitors don’t bounce.
We set up the structure Google expects
Clean headings, internal links, and correct schema (Organization /LocalBusiness /LegalService). So your pages can be found and ranked.
We show progress simply
A short monthly update, enquiries by page, a snapshot of key rankings, and two dated screenshots. No slide decks.
Our Law Firm Website Design Process
We apply tested design patterns to your brand and agree the design once; then we deliver on schedule—so you get an on‑brand site that converts sooner.
Phase 1: Design approval (Week 1)
- We collect assets and access, share design references, and produce a near‑complete homepage mockup in your brand (with placeholder copy/images).
- Outcome: homepage approved; schedule confirmed.
Phase 2: Full build on staging (Weeks 1–3 from approval)
- We build the full site on a private staging environment while your current site remains live: priority service pages and boilerplate pages, plain‑English copy, mobile‑first layouts, speed, schema, forms, and call tracking.
- Hosting: we migrate to our recommended provider for speed, reliability, security, and support.
- Outcome: complete site on staging for review; small amendments applied.
Phase 3: Launch and post‑launch checks (Week 4)
- We go live (DNS, SSL, redirects), verify indexing, confirm tracking, and test forms/call routing. We run live speed checks and resolve any issues.
- Outcome: live site, clean indexing, working enquiry paths, and performance tuned.
After launch (Weeks 5–8)
- What you will see: improved engagement on key pages (time on page, scroll, CTA clicks) and an uplift in qualified enquiries where enquiry paths improved.
- How we show it: a concise monthly Evidence Update with enquiries by page, a snapshot of priority rankings (if paired with SEO), and two dated screenshots. No slide decks.
What we need from you (Week 1)
- Brand assets (logos, colours), any preferred imagery
- CMS/hosting access and current site logins (we will guide you)
- Preferred design references (we will supply options)
- Key services and locations to feature
- Brand/legal guardrails and a single point of contact

Law Firm Website Design: Frequently Asked Questions
We’ve put together answers to the most common questions our clients ask. From timelines to approvals, our goal is to keep the process clear and simple.
How long will the website take?
Typically four weeks from design approval: Week 1 design approval, Weeks 1–3 full build on staging, Week 4 launch and post‑launch checks.
Do you design from scratch?
We use tested design patterns tailored to your brand. This shortens time to launch and focuses effort on what increases enquiries.
Which platform do you use?
WordPress. It is reliable, flexible, and straightforward to maintain. We handle the build, hosting setup, and handover.
Do you handle hosting?
Yes. We migrate to a recommended provider for speed, reliability, security, and support. We manage the process to avoid downtime.
What is included in the build?
Homepage, priority service pages, boilerplate pages, plain‑English copy, mobile‑first layouts, speed improvements, schema, forms, and call tracking configured.
Who writes the content?
We draft plain‑English content for key pages. Content is produced by, or legally reviewed by, qualified lawyers. You may provide edits to reflect tone.
Will our current site stay live during the build?
Yes. We build on a private staging site. Your current site remains live until launch.
How do revisions work?
We confirm the design direction in Week 1 (homepage mockup). That is the best time for significant changes. After approval, we apply smaller edits during staging review and proceed to launch.
What happens after launch?
We verify indexing, speed, and enquiry paths. You receive a concise monthly Evidence Update showing enquiries by page, a snapshot of priority rankings (if paired with SEO), and two dated screenshots. No lengthy slide decks.
Do you work with firms outside Australia?
Yes. We support firms across Australia and internationally.
What access do you need to start?
Brand assets, CMS/hosting access, preferred design references, key services and locations, and a single point of contact.

About
Commersion Legal
Founded by Jason Xu (LLB, GDLP) — a former practising lawyer who built Commersion Legal to serve one client type only: law firms. I’ve sat in partner meetings, navigated approvals, conflicts, and risk. That context shapes how we operate: clear briefs, fast drafts, and work that stands up to scrutiny.
What I bring from practice:
- Precision over volume: lawyer‑led content, not generic blogging
- Partner reality: approvals, conflicts, and jurisdiction nuance built into the plan
- Accountability: one owner responsible (me), clear timelines, no hand‑offs
Credentials:
- Formerly of MinterEllison (AU), IAG (AU), Veolia (FR), NRMA (AU).
- Speaker, InView Conference 2023
- Legal Innovator of the Year, Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) 2021
